Me and My Obagi Reviews

About Me!

I have been using Obagi since January of 2004 and I’ve had some really great results with it. I was first introduced to Obagi by my dermatologist since she uses Obagi as well and her complexion is really beautiful. Since she was using I thought why not – I’ll give it a try. And I’m certainly glad I did.

I can honestly say that my skin now looks amazing – it really has looked the best it ever has. I will soon be turning 39 and for the first time in my life I don’t freak out if someone happens to catch me without my make-up on!

When I first started using Obagi the first couple weeks were absolutely horrible and I wondered if the products actually worked. The initial experience I had was a really big turn-off for me but in the end it was all worth it.

Hi Sophia,

I have just finished 3 months of the Clenziderm system and have had great results. I have had awful acne for years after my first child and tried everything. Like you, now I don’t mind if someone sees me with my make off.

My question now is that I don’t know if I should get the Rx or Nuderm system? I am 36 have fine lines, large pores, pigmentation issues from previous acne. My goal is to look younger and not need any makeup. Any advice in how to combine the products and which products I would use would be great.

Thanks,
Mary

Hi Mary,

Thanks for visiting! Well for something that has less side-effects but doesn’t deliver quite the results of the Nu Derm system then I would go with RX. Nu Derm is the most popular system from Obagi because it really delivers the results, however you’ll have to endure some form of side effects to get the results you’re looking for. It really all depends on your skin, if you’re a young person and don’t have any serious skin problems I would go with RX. Hope this helps!

Best regards,
Sophia

Hi Sophia,

I am in my 6th week of using the Obagi Nu-Derm system (for oily skin). My skin looks a little smoother. However, I have not experienced any redness, itching nor peeling. I followed the directions closely.

What am I doing wrong? Is this normal?

Any comment is appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Sophia

I used the whle NuDerm system last fall/winter with fantastic results. I have been on maintenance on and off but Iam very interested in the ZO Line not the cleanser but the rest for maintenance. What are your thoughts. The Exforderm is getting a bit much for me so I thought I would use this as a maintenance. By the way they are re-formulating the Radical Night Repair $300plus so it is no longer available. Thanks Dale

I have been using the Obagi Enhance & conditioning line for about 6 wks now, along with eye cream and retinol. I have not seen any results, or improvement so far. I invested $580 and I’m starting to believe it was a waste. I could have continued using over the counter products for what I’m seeing. Not pleased.

I have been using the entire Obagi system for the last 4 weeks. My face is red, burns, itchy & peeling. How long till the side effects go away. I’m oily around my nose area but not on the sides of my face where it hurts the most. Please advise.

I have just started using Obagi Nu-Derm and i am currently on my 5th day of treatment. I am peeling like CRAZY and i actually already see a few differences in my skin. I am peeling everywhere except my forehead is just beginning today. I made a really dumb mistake and used facial hair remover for my upper lip and it burned up and scarred around my lips. That area was red and scarred yesterday. However i still went through the treatment, and it burned A LOT, i wanted to give up but today during shower, it all came off and was peeling and the scars are gone. It’s just red now. I don’t want to give up right now, like i almost was about to. My dermatologist recommended i do it for 6 weeks and i hope everything works out in those 6 weeks so i can be ready for school. The treatment is really a commitment that you have to make and keep. If you can do that, im pretty sure anyone who needs it can get the results they expect.

I have been using Obagi Nu-Derm treatment, the whole kit including tretanoin, for over six months and I am thoroughly disappointed. I was willing to put in the time and effort, but I have seen no noticeable results. I am 67 and look perhaps 10 years younger. No friends have said I look more youthful because of the products . I don’t see my skin as more youthful. It goes through its usual cycle: sometimes I look good, other times I look older. I upgraded tretanoin from .05 to .1, but my skin has never peeled to expose new layers of skin, and I realize now that it never will. Also my few age spots have barely lightened. Now I seem to be getting shadowy marks around my mouth that weren’t there before

My major disappointment at this time is that Obagi has no satisfaction guaranteed clause. Obagi puts it back on the practitioners who have spent their money to have the product available, and therefore I am have lost about $400, in addition to the time and effort.

I have been using Obagi Nu-Derm treatment, the whole kit including tretanoin, for over a year and a half.

I am thoroughly PLEASED!!!

When both MEN and WOMEN come up to me and compliment me on my youthful and glowing skin, I know I am doing something correctly.
In the begining you will peel and become red. Yet, it is a small inconvince for the marvelous result that will be yours in just a few months. In the total of 16 weeks, it seems as if all new skin and skin color has been replenished.

Although I do have wonderful Genes and look youthful, strangers constantly assumed that I am 47, which is 20 years younger than I am.

I am so very lucky and pleased to have a wonderful partner who has the softest and the most beautiful and youthful skin. She herself is very young looking. One of her secrets is, ” I Don’t Do Sun.”

A big joke between us is that,” She loves to take her son shopping.”

We are going to try Obagi on her very soon.

So, the new joke may be, “I am taking my niece out to dinner and dancing.”

I hope this helps others and please stick with it. Just ask yourself, “Who would you like to go shopping with?”

I LOVE my Obagi Nu Derm… I have been using it for over a year… For those who are do not like Obagi.. Make sure you are doing the right steps and not skipping lots of days….. I had Cysts on my face and HUGE pores.. I kept finding myself always looking for different make-up before I started Obagi, it was not my make up it was my skin.. Thank you Obagi…

I have used the nuderm system with great success and am on maintenance. Although my brown spots are gone, I am left with red spots that don’t seem to change. What to do? Do I need more invasive treatment? Thank you,

I am 62 years old….and I completed a laser treatment on my face about 6 months ago. Not too happy with the results…considering the $$$$$. After reading some of the reviews of the Obagi program….I am now afraid to try it!!! I have fairly dry skin and age wrinkles…sounds like my wrinkles will get worse. I’m also thinking that due to the laser treatment perhaps I need to wait a while?????? Should I keep the products on the shelf for awhile?

I have been using some (but not all) of the products in the Nu-Derm line. I don’t want to use those containing hydroquinone. (There must be a reason it’s outlawed in some contries. I started with #1,2,4 and 6. I recently added the 20% Professional-C Serum and just ordered (but have not received or used the #5 (.025%

I have tried obagi Nu-derm products but never got good results. The worse thing is that I got pigmentations after a few years. I think this product is effective for some but not for others. The most vital thing you have to do once you started obagi is to use a lot of sunblock spf 50 up. Stay away from the sun… the sun is your worse enemy once you use hydroquinoine.

Obagi is a wonderful product but must be monitored by your esthetician or doctor for the full benefits. The products contain prescriptions that should not be sold thru the internet because you do not know how old they are or how long they have been sitting in someones car or wharehouse. You also need a prescription for retina A to work with ste5 5 or blender and only your physician can tell you what strength you need and how exactly to use it. Some products could be out of date. The new kits include more product then the older versions and are therefore more expensive than you would find online. So beware buying this product online!

hi,

I’ve been using obagi nu-derm for a long period of time some years ago. My cheeks became powery rosy pink that I dont even need to apply powder nor blusher and freckles fade off. though I’ve acheived excellant results, I stopped for couple of years because I heard that this products cannot be used long term as it will thin off our skin.

After so many years, I still miss those obagi days especially my skin has now worsened with uneven tone, dark pigment and freckles. So… recently I just bought the obagi clear, exfoderm forte, blender & retin A from doc. Now I am into the 7 days using obagi nu-derm but results obtained is not as good as before. My skin do peel and some freckles have lightened but results still far from what i acheived years before. peeling is not so much as before and skin tone not as nice as before.(no more powdery pink on my cheeks which i miss most)

Frankly speaking, I’ve forgotten how long I used obagi before i acheived the result in the past. can someone enlighten me? Do u guys also acheive powdery pinkish cheeks after using? how long to complete the course or can it be used in the long run?

Curious @ 5:38 am

I began using Obagi last Monday and after ready that once you stop your face will look worse then what it did before you started, I am a little nervous now. Right now my skin is very tight and when I eat and smile it hurts and my chin is peeling something horrible (I was advised about the side affects). How long is to long when using Obagi?
