Obagi Eye Cream: Day and Night Therapy

When you talk about Obagi Eye Cream, you really are talking about just two seperate types because that is all that they have in their lineup. They are Obagi Elastiderm Night Eye Cream, which comes in a small pot and Obagi Nu-Derm Eye Cream that comes in a small tube.

So then, what are the differences between the two? In fact there are several stark differences, aside from just the fact that one is meant for daytime use, while the other is meant for night-time therapy.

For instance, their Nu-Derm product tends to be made up of what might be described as more benign, natural substances. I won't go into all of them but the first one listed on the ingredient list is Aloe, which is the juice of a soft fleshed, succulent cactus like plant.

On the other hand, their Elastiderm cream is comprised of what would definitley be best described as synthesized chemical substances. Once again, I won't go into all of them but the first one, which would be the most prevalent, is listed as ethylhexyl Palmitate just after water.

So it would appear that rather than an “either or” situation, both of these eye creams are formulated to be used in conjunction with each other as a combined regimen. Each one functioning in its own way to foment change

The Elastiderm works at night, to penetrate below the skins surface and function on a cellular level to induce and enhance the production of elastin and and collagen. Then in the daytime the Nu-Derm Eye Cream functions to soothe, heal and protect the thin skin in the orbital regions of the eyes.

Obagi ELASTIderm Night Eye Cream – How It Works

One of the most common complaints regarding skin aging that dermatologists and plastic surgeons hear, is problems that manifest themselfes around the eyes. Crows feet, dark circles, puffiness and lack of volume are just a few of the symptoms of aging and distressed skin issues that often apear in the thin skin above or below the eyes. Unfortunately this delicate, thin skin has been the most difficult to treat over the years compared to other areas of the face.

A Dificult Area to Treat

Plastic surgery is generally the first thing that will come to someones mind but there are a few thing that have to be considered before one runs to the “knife”. The first consideration is that the delicate tissue and skin around the eyes does not respond as well to plastic surgery techniques as other areas of the body and face do.

Bi-Mineral Complex

This is why many plastic surgeons are now recommending newer and more effective topical skin therapy products such as Obagi ELASTIderm Eye Cream to treat surface skin issues in the delicate skin that surounds the eyes. Obagi ELASTIderm Eye Cream contains a patented bi-mineral complex that has been shown in multiple clinical tests to actually tighten sub dermal connective tissues.

More Effective – Longer Lasting

Unlike topical skin therapy treatments of the past, this newly developed and released product from Obagi functions below the skins surface dermal layer. Also, its effects are cumulative which means that they build with time and last much longer than other similar products that you may have tried in the past.
